I realized that taking care of myself allows the Universe to take care of everything else.
Taking care of my physical body by…
Taking care of my mental and emotional health by…
Tuning into the Heaven in my Heart, my Soul, frequently (I just love feeling this Love filling every cell of my body!)…
Trusting and believing in my natural ability to create, keeping the flame of optimism in the Truth of Infinite Possibilities burning constantly, brighter, warmer…
Making my well-being at all levels my highest priority by loving myself unconditionally…
This thriving version of myself, aligned with my True Self, is a magnet for more clients to serve, more fun, more allowing, more gratitude, and more fulfillment, inspiring more souls through me and as me.
A Work in Progress
It hasn’t always been like this. I’ve been consciously working on myself for more than twenty years.
My journey began when I started studying NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). Pivoting from a successful career in IT, I wanted to replicate that success in coaching, both in income and impact.
What a roller coaster it was, riding the pattern of feast and famine. I couldn’t create a consistent income. Just as I thought this was it, I was back to struggling.
It was as if I just couldn’t break through. Often I thought, “Why don’t I get it?”
It’s like there was an invisible force determined to obscure me from union with my Higher Self. Yes, it was an invisible force. In fact, it still works tirelessly to limit me.
Attachment
This force is my ego-mind, relentlessly trying to lure me into entrapment and victimization through attachment.
Attachment has subtle layers. It’s not just attachment to the outcome. It’s also attachment to doubt and fear—the ego's paradigm.
I became curious about this emotional roller coaster. When I meditated, I felt so aligned. But a while later, I suddenly realized I was feeling that low vibration again, as if something were wrong.
Then I caught on and recognized that low feeling of something bad happening, or something good not happening, as resistance.
I recognized that I was resisting what is.
I also discovered that the ego-mind wants to be in charge and call the shots, directing my attention like a puppet master and constantly drawing it to the lack of evidence of results.
In my case, the lack of evidence that new author-clients were consistently joining my book program made me feel guilty for not doing enough. That added a ton of pressure to take action!
It’s so easy to succumb to this pressure and take action to relieve it, but with no results because the action was driven by the energy of lack.
Then again, drawing attention to no results yet. Pressure again to take action. I allowed the external world to determine my mood, vibration, and frequency.
By following my ego-mind, I only attracted and recreated more of what I already had; either no clients or clients who were not the right fit.
This self-sabotaging loop kept me stuck in the cycle of resistance, getting nowhere fast.
Distraction
Another tactic of the ego-mind is distraction.
When I felt determined to focus my attention and energy on the end result and let go, a shiny object would show up, like a marketing program or a magical fix for attracting clients that consumed hours of my energy and led to nothing.
Then again, followed the guilt of wasting time on irrelevant activities.
Self-Talk
Amid these low-vibration emotions of guilt, shame, doubt, and fear, I became acutely aware of my self-talk.
I became aware of the subtle messages my ego-mind kept feeding myself.
Messages that it’s not going to happen. There’s not enough time. It’s impossible. I’m not getting what I want.
I learned that self-talk actually precedes thought and that our self-talk carries the most weight in determining which instructions our subconscious mind executes.
Self-Love
I then realized that the easiest and most effective way to overcome all the ways I was sabotaging myself was to love myself unconditionally.
Self-compassion and kindness to myself go a long way toward letting go of resistance and flowing with Life.
Learning to truly accept and love myself is the greatest adventure of wonder unfolding in my life.
Again, my commitment to self-love has many layers.
Some of the greatest benefits are…
Practice
But it’s a practice. Never to be taken for granted again. Never to be complacent about it again. And that I have come to deeply treasure and enjoy.
