Writing a book is a sacred, transformative experience. Why? Because it changes you. How? Writing your story broadens your perspective on what happened and on your perception of yourself and others.
When we revisit our stories through writing, something magical happens. We see things more clearly. The emotions of pain, hurt, fear, shame, guilt, and anger that were suppressed resurface.
Writing through them and facing them through our tears, breathing deeply, we welcome them in. We also release their trapped energy from our bodies.
Writing is a way to face our deepest fears and trauma and to realize how they have shaped our lives. By facing our deepest fears, we see them for what they are - false assumptions that have lodged in our nervous system.
Writing is one of the most effective forms of therapy for releasing trauma, with the added benefit of seeing how it transformed us into who we are today. We realize that we wouldn’t have evolved into the people we are now if it weren’t for that experience.
We have an epiphany of no regrets, becoming aware that whatever happened has changed the trajectory of our lives in ways we could not have imagined. Through writing, we truly transform our pain into power by stopping identifying with the assumptions that caused it and, in the process, freeing ourselves from the past.
Sometimes this can evoke extreme emotions that feel like reliving trauma, but it isn’t. It’s the burning of that trauma and rising from the ashes like a phoenix.
So many authors have told me that they have probably saved thousands of dollars on therapy just by writing their story.
As we grow older and wiser, we remember the truth that our lives are not our own. We are here for our soul’s evolution. We have agreed to soul contracts that support our souls’ evolution. Our lives are predetermined and created as we live.
However, even though we remember this truth, every time we write about our past experiences, we uncover more truth about who we are. We don’t arrive in this life with a clean slate. We carry with us the stories of ancestral lineage, embedded in our DNA as shadow frequencies that we are meant to experience and transcend.
As we evolve, so do our stories about ourselves, which determine our future experiences.
Storytelling is a way to contemplate our ancestral wounds by writing about our human journey. We download incredible wisdom. This unique wisdom inherent in us benefits humanity and serves the Whole.
Fortunately, that urge to share the wisdom bestowed on us arises naturally as we start helping others. This fulfills a human need to learn through connection with others’ stories as well as the need to share.
We are all ONE, connected within this tapestry called Life. Writing our stories refines our leadership - we become wisdom leaders who walk ourselves and others Home to our True Selves.
I have walked alongside nearly 200 women and men on this path of transformational writing and have captured their love and courage in remarkable books. I believe that every being involved in these stories, whether as writer or reader, experiences transformation.
That’s why writing your story with AI to “polish” it robs it of your heart’s energy, which is meant to infuse your stories. As a publisher and coach, I see myself as a conduit for Divine Inspiration and a steward of my authors’ wisdom.
That’s why I prefer the stories entrusted to us to be “messy”, because I can tell they’re from the Heart. That’s also why we do minimal editing of grammar and punctuation in our multi-author books to preserve the author’s voice and the story.
Writing a solo book without personal experience feels empty. There’s nothing for the reader to relate to in their own life. Successful books weave the author’s personal story with clients’ success stories to add credibility and relatability.
Writing is a sacred experience of courage and expansion, but finishing a chapter or a solo manuscript is not the end of this journey.
Publishing a book in any genre is just the start. The next step is to use the book and the recognition as a bestselling author to build authority, increase visibility, and enhance credibility. Linking the process of writing a chapter in a multi-author or solo book to a strategic goal helps the author gain more influence, exposure, and trust in their business. This approach results in greater impact and increased prosperity.
For me, as an indie publisher, it is very important to fulfill this promise to the authors who work with me. I’m passionate about helping every author I work with leverage their books to significantly grow their business.
Even when I started out as a publisher, this was my intention. I remember recruiting authors for my first book. Many people said their previous experience as an author did not yield the results they expected. I vowed to change that for those working with me.
However, I had no idea what I was doing. I also believed that book sales were necessary and that authors would magically attract clients from book sales. I was wrong. I realized it was not about book sales at all. The real intention of writing a non-fiction book is to grow our business. The book is like creating a portal for visibility and authority.
What I also realized is that the responsibility for creating this portal lies with the author, and my role is to show them the way. But it’s up to them to apply and implement the guidance for their own business.
With every multi-author book we published, our guidance and support for our authors expanded, and we continue to devote significant time to ensuring they prepare their businesses to make the most of their books. I truly believe that each author can fully recover their investment in becoming an author by launching a program based on their story when the book is published.
However, leveraging a book to create lasting growth and prosperity involves more than marketing alone. It also requires the author to redefine their self-image, seeing themselves as both an author and a leader. Moreover, it entails aligning their inner energy with their identity as an author and with the influence they envision their book having.
One of our authors, Lisa Doucette, recently said: "To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. It made one of my dreams come true by becoming a published author, gave me so much confidence, and helped me step way out of my shell."
That is what excites me.
Helping purpose-driven experts become confident authors who leverage their message to generate increased influence, impact, opportunity, and prosperity. The collective high-frequency energy within a group of writers collaboratively creates ripples that extend from each individual. This fosters a sense of community and connection that is invaluable. That’s why I have groups for both multi-author and solo authors.
