Your Mindset Is Hurting Your Business And How To Change It

As a woman in her sixties who spent decades trying to “make it” as an entrepreneur, I realized it wouldn’t happen unless I changed myself first. I’ve done affirmations, meditated, and completed manifestation programs. Everyone around me made leaps, except me. Obviously, my mindset was hurting my business.

I was determined to discover what the ’problem’ was with my mindset. After another series of teachers, I realized I had to embody the version of myself who could manifest what I desperately desired and hold that vibration no matter what was happening in my life. But how to get there was a huge challenge for me. It was not just about cultivating a prosperity mindset. It was about the components of mindset - identity and attitude.

I realized that the identity I knew I was capable of is reflected in an attitude that shows up in every thought, word, emotion, and action. I realized this was not just a morning routine where I felt so aligned, but after a while, the external world triggered me to drop back into fear or doubt. I knew I had to find a way to infuse this attitude of faith and trust into every part of my being.

You see, attitude and Identity are closely connected and work together to shape our external reality. They reinforce each other in a visible feedback loop within our external world.

Our attitude is like a lens that shapes how we perceive our lives. It is the combination of our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions, and it emits a frequency from our body. Our thoughts, emotions, language, self-talk, and behavior all have a vibrational signature. The frequency of what we think, feel, and talk about throughout the day establishes our baseline frequency, which interacts with the Law of Attraction to draw experiences from the Quantum Field that match our vibrational state.

Think of your attitude as a point on a continuum between victim and victor, pessimist and optimist, surviving and thriving, lack and abundance, and sickness and well-being. Where on the continuum are you operating most of the time? That is the lens through which you perceive reality.

The beliefs we hold about ourselves, our lives, people, money, health, and everything else shape our attitude and define our identity.

One wonders which comes first: attitude or identity, a classic chicken-and-egg dilemma.

By examining the following meanings, you will realize how your attitude and identity are shaped.

  • What do you believe about yourself?
  • What do the different people in your life mean to you?
  • What do you believe about your health?
  • What meanings do you have about your business?
  • What does prosperity mean to you?
  • What do you believe about money?

What are your definitions of self-love, self-worth, self-respect, and self-integrity?

Your beliefs drive your choices, actions, results, and attitude in every area of your life. How this plays out confirms your beliefs and solidifies your attitude.

Your attitude toward yourself shapes your identity. How you see yourself affects how you treat yourself and how others treat you. It also affects how you see your business, your clients, and your success. This creates a cycle - a feedback loop, creating your reality moment by moment.

When your sense of self, your identity, is healthy:

  • You see yourself as worthy, and you reach higher through faith and trust.
  • You love yourself, see yourself as lovable, and fully accept yourself and your life.
  • You have self-respect, your self-talk is encouraging, you acknowledge yourself, and you show compassion toward your human self.
  • You have self-integrity; you follow through and keep your promises to yourself.
  • You are happy, in harmony with your life, and can let go of trying to control everything.

Here’s what the opposite looks like:

  • When you view yourself as unworthy, you see yourself as a victim, and no matter how hard you try, you don’t make progress.
  • When you don’t love yourself, you see yourself as unlovable and a victim, feel resentful toward life, and tend to complain and blame.
  • When you lack self-respect, you speak to yourself in a dismissive way, criticize yourself, and focus on what isn't working.
  • When you lack self-integrity, you don’t keep promises to yourself and end up convincing yourself that you are not important enough.
  • You are unhappy, you don’t feel in harmony with your life, and you desperately try to control circumstances to achieve your desired outcomes.

With control comes conditions. For example:

I’ll be happy when…
When I achieve …, I’ll love myself more.

Conditions stem from the ego-mind. They continuously shift the goalposts, leaving you feeling stuck in a loop, fostering resentment toward yourself, lowering your vibration, and affecting your results.

What we have been exploring is how you create your external reality that aligns with the frequency of your attitude and identity - that of a thriving vs a survival mindset.

Sit in stillness and contemplate:

  • How do I see myself?
  • How do I treat myself?
  • How does my self-perception influence my business success?

Changing your Attitude and Identity to create a Reality of Thriving is a practice of embodying the meanings, beliefs, emotions, language, self-talk, and aligned actions of the Frequency of Thriving.

The Universal Law of Creation states that you can attain anything you desire, but to do so, you must first become the person who already has it. This means you need to be a vibrational match for your vision—upgrading and embodying your identity and attitude to bring your vision into physical reality.

As entrepreneurs, we naturally want to create more prosperity in our businesses, but despite working harder, we often don't succeed.
